My Favorite Book Series by American Authors

In Death Series by J. D. Robb

After reading a few of her romance novels as a young adult, once the first book of this series was published, I wanted to read it. Now, I’ve read quite a few but not all of them yet. Eve Dallas is the main character and we grow to like her in each book of the series. Same with Roarke, Peabody, etc. It’s set in the future so the techy in me is happy to read about how things could be in the future.

Cedar Cove Series by Debbie Macomber

I discovered this series as a young adult that started to read in English and wanted something that was easy to read for someone with English as their second language.

Blossom Street Series by Debbie Macomber

I love this series because there are knitters in the story and one of my hobbies is knitting. Whenever I lack the motivation to start a knitting project, reading one of these gives me the motivation to pick up my needles and start a new project.

Angels Series by Debbie Macomber

I love this series because they are sweet readings anytime I need something to get me in a better mood. There are perfect for Christmas time.

Bosch Series by Michael Connelly

I discovered this series as an adult after becoming fluent enough in English to want to discover American authors. Bosch, the main character, has been through such hard times as a Vietnam veteran. His taste for justice (his version of it), makes him a tough police officer that won’t stop until he find the guilty and brings it to justice.

Vampires Series by Anne Rice

Just like Flowers in the Attic, I’ve read the first books of this series in French. I’ve yet to read them in English. By the end of the first book, I wanted to read the others. I’m wondering if it’s because of the quality of the translation or not.

Flowers in the Attic Series by VC Andrews

I read this series first in French when I was still a teenager. One of my cousin was reading the first book for school and describe the story when I asked her. I bought my copy a few days later. I finished the first book and then went for more books in the series. About 30 years later, I bought copies in the original language and am currently reading them.

Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling

A little late in the game, I’ve finally read the first 3 books of the series last year. I still haven’t read the last few but I have them on my to-be-read book pile.
